DETROIT LAKES — The Intrepid Adventure Film Festival is returning to Detroit Lakes for a second year on Friday, July 29.
To start off the festival, they will be hosting two sessions of Yoga on the Beach, at 8:30 and 10 a.m. on the Detroit Lakes City Beach.
Then, from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., some kids from the Detroit Lakes Community and Cultural Center will be coming to the Pavilion to enjoy fun outdoor activities and watch some short, kid-friendly adventure films, as well as interact with the festival's special guests.
Then, the main event begins.
"The doors open at 12:30 p.m. and the films start at 5 p.m.." said Stein Retzlaff, who along with partner Frankie Hutchinson, brought the first Intrepid Adventure Film Festival to Detroit Lakes last summer.

A total of 16 short films from all over the world, focused on outdoor adventure sports, will be screened inside the Detroit Lakes Pavilion between 5-9 p.m. — but that's not all.
"We have a few special guests coming," Retzlaff added.
Guests who will be attending the festival and interacting with the attendees include professional skier and Olympic silver medalist Colby Stevenson , professional skier Pete McAfee , polar explorer, skier and mountaineer Doug Stoup , and adventurer/filmmaker Todd Offenbacher , who will serve as master of ceremonies.
When the films are done, the guests will head out to the beach for some live music by Matt Aakre and the Dirty Little Secret. In addition, there will be food from the Spanky's Stone Hearth food truck, two cash bars, and a raffle, the proceeds from which will benefit the youth programs at the Detroit Lakes Community & Cultural Center.
"Last year we were really excited to raise $12,000 for the Historic Holmes Theatre," said Retzlaff, noting that 100% of the raffle proceeds will go to the DLCCC.
"This year we hope to raise money to get the kids back outdoors, by funding some field trips and outdoor activities," said Hutchinson.
The raffle will have "some amazing and incredible prizes," Retzlaff added, including a Lake Tahoe ski vacation package, Volkl skis for men and women, Zodiac watches, Detroit Mountain season pass and swag, adventure-themed fine art prints, Mammut outerwear and backpacks, local health and wellness packages, sunglasses and more.
