Perham area community events and things to do during the week of Feb. 3-13

Red River Valley Veterans Concert Band.jpg
The Red River Valley Veterans Band, which is based out of Fargo, honors all veterans at their concerts with patriotic music, music recognizable to veterans, and songs for all branches of the military. The band will give two concerts in Perham on the evening of Thursday, April 21; a 7 p.m. concert at Perham Living for residents and their families, and an 8:15 p.m. concert at the Perham Center for the Arts that is open to the public. Both concerts are free admission.

The Perham Focus accepts community calendar items for publication online and in our Thursday print edition, space permitting. Submissions must be made at least a week in advance of the event date, in writing, to either editor@perhamfocus.com or vgerdes@dlnewspapers.com .

Each submission must include the date, time and location of event, whether it is recurring or a one-time happening, and where to go for more information (phone, email and/or website). Also include whether the event is free or paid admission, and how much it costs when applicable.

Thursday, February 10

Empowering Kids/Boys and Girls Club Open House: The Perham Area Boys and Girls Club and Empowering Kids are co-hosting an open house at The Hub in Perham from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and again from 6-7:30 p.m. The two organizations are each trying to raise $30,000 through the Giving Hearts Day 24-hour online fundraiser, which takes place the same day, to purchase programming supplies for their new joint space.

Saturday, February 12

Dylan Doyle Concert: The Cultural Center in New York Mills will host a 7:30 p.m. concert by Dylan Doyle and his band. Doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets are $12 at the door for adults. Cash bar and light refreshments available. Learn more at dylandoyleband.com.

Multi-Day Events

Youth Sno-Cross Races: Two days of youth sno-cross racing on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 12-13, at the Pioneer Grounds in Perham. This event is part of the Two Eighty Six Sno Series. Racing starts at 10 a.m. both days. Admission $5.
