Open House

Free coffee and doughnuts will be served at Mac's Farm Service's open house on Friday, Dec. 12. Attendees can also register to win door prizes. The open house will feature the new 1970 Polaris snowmobile. Mac's Farm Service will also be having Pre-Christmas discounts through Dec. 20.

Local to Alaska, and another celebrates 25 years

On Tuesday Elizabeth Bachleitner left Perham for the holidays so that she can spend them with her daughter, the Art Boedigheimer family, in Anchorage, Alaska.

On Dec. 5 Mr. and Mrs. Ferdinand Wanderi celebrated their silver wedding anniversary. The children of Mr. and Mrs. Wanderi threw the couple a surprise anniversary party for the occasion.

Auditorium overhaul begins next Tuesday

On Monday, Dec. 19, will be a landmark event for the Perham High School's auditorium as it will be the final performance held in the auditorium after 58 years. The following morning the auditorium will start undergoing a $600,000 renovation. Seats will be torn out after Monday's choir concert. The project will be finished in time for the next public performance after the start of the next school year.

After 34 years, Jim Siebels retires from Post Office

Jim Siebels is retiring from the Post Office this week after 34 years, starting off as a clerk then, six years later, moving onto being a mail carrier on a Perham city route. However, after four years of a city route, Siebels decided that he wanted a rural route. In 1970 he received a rural delivery route which he has had ever since.

Yellowjackets in fourth at Moorhead Invitational

The Perham Yellowjackets held a steady pace of improvement last weekend as they brought home two champions. The Yellowjackets were eight points out of being the runner-up at the Moorhead Wrestling Invitational. Perham came home from the invitational in fourth place thanks to Jeremy Nelson, at 160, who defeated G-B-MR's Joal Howard 4-3 for the title. The Fargo South Bruins won the event, with 180 points and three champions.
