At the Hibbing Junior College Homecoming festivities on Oct. 16, Pam Ostlie was crowned Homecoming Queen. Miss Ostlie is in her final year of nurse training. She also represents the nursing student association.
The Longfellow Rebekah Lodge 164 held its annual Christmas Party last Tuesday evening. The party was held at the home of Evelyn Weicket. Seven members were present and it was decided that Christmas cards would be sent to members gone for the winter.
Symposium in Wadena
The theme of Wadena Senior High School's symposium will be "SOCIETY TODAY... TOMORROW?" The symposium will take place Jan. 6, 7 and 8. Senior high instructor Ron Schrader is the chairman of this event, which will be the second of four symposiums to be held in the 1969-70 school year. The purpose of the symposium is to expose students to the problems of society and to acquaint them with key individuals in various areas.

Love Lights a Tree
Donations can still be made until Christmas at the Perham Chamber of Commerce office for the "Love Lights a Tree." Ornaments have been placed on the tree as a memorial for those who passed this year. The tree is on display at the Chamber office and the American Cancer Society sincerely thanks those who have participated in the project.
Don't move snow into highways
The Minnesota Department of Transportation would like to remind citizens that depositing snow into state and public highways and roadways is not only hazardous but illegal. Doing so puts motorists at risk. The act of placing snow on public highways and roadways is a violation of Minnesota Statue 160.27.
Thanks to donations made over the past few months, the Perham Public Library is now home to several new books, magazines, videocassettes and audiocassettes. To be more friendly to those who work from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. there will be new library hours. The library will now be open from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays; Wednesdays from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m.; Saturdays from 9 a.m. until noon, and will be closed on Thursdays and Sundays.
