The warm November weekend made for ideal conditions for the Holiday Bazaar and bake sale fundraiser put on at the In Their Own Words Veterans Museum on Nov. 7, in order to help raise funds for the museum.
In addition to the bake sale and lunch put on by the museum, a number of vendors were set up inside of the museum participating in the bazaar. Alycia Jenson, the owner of A Design Studio, said the bazaar was going well with a good number of people coming through to the booths taking part in the bazaar.
Shirly Davidson, from the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4020, said the event was seeing a steady flow of about five people coming through at a time as of 11 a.m.
Davidson said the funds raised by the bake sale and the lunch would go to support the ITOW museum, which has been closed during the pandemic, to help ensure the museum’s survival.
Davidson said the bazaar was turning out to be a successful event for the museum. She said the first Saturday in November is normally the Women of Focus Holiday Bazaar, which was canceled this year due to COVID-19. Next year, the museum will possibly consider putting on a bazaar again should the Women of Focus’s annual bazaar not return.
