This Sunday, Aug. 11 at 10 a.m., Northwoods Assembly in Perham will be hosting its 13th annual Hot Rod Sunday.
The theme of this year’s event and message is centered on “Route 66.”
Northwoods’ Pastor Dirk Currier serves as a chaplain at the Brainerd International Raceway and each year opens up his church to host traveling racers who are on the way to a National Hot Rod Association event.
Hot Rod Sunday is a car show, featuring local cars as well as some show cars. This year, a purple Lamborghini will be on display. Awards are given for cars, and prizes are given away. Anyone who attends this year’s event is eligible to win a Mini-iPad, a GPS, two tickets to the National Hot Rod Association Nationals, as well as oil changes and many other prizes.
Food will be available after the service. All children will receive a free Hot Wheels car for attending. Games, bouncy houses and much more will mark the day’s activities.
