Perham kids were rewarded for their good deeds with quite the show last Thursday.
Heart of the Lakes Elementary School students recently collected 1,600 pairs of donated socks and underwear for people in need, exceeding their 'Socksgiving' goal of 1,500 pairs. And so, Principal Liz Johnson fulfilled her promise to be taped to the wall of a school hallway, where she read to them for two full hours.
The kids were excited to see their principal taped to the wall, and ever since reaching their goal had been asking Johnson again and again when it would be happening. Johnson was excited, too, saying it would be a fun time.

Classes signed up for 10-minute time slots to listen and watch as Johnson shared stories from the wall. Students filed into the halls, whispering with excitement and watching in awe.
The next charitable effort in line for the school is a shoe drive , happening now through Dec. 22.
