Perham High School student Makenzi Kovar has signed a letter of intent with Concordia College to compete for its forensic team.
Coach Sandra-Weiser-Matthews feels Kovar is one of the most competitive students she's ever worked with, and will be the first of her students to compete at the collegiate level.
Kovar has competed for the PHS Speech Team for six years and has advanced to the state level of competition four times. She competes in multiple events at meets.
Kovar has received the Coach's Choice Award two times during her Speech career.
She is also involved in volleyball, basketball, golf, choir, student Rotary and others. She is the spokesperson for the Perham Food Shelf, and the reigning Miss Vergas.

Kovar plans to major in Mass Communications.
