The Perham Lions Club has announced its 2011 Citizen of the Year: Kenny Nelson, CEO of KLN Enterprises.

Nelson was chosen for being an "entrepreneur" with a "philanthropic" spirit, explained Lions Club President Gary Senske, adding, "It's a significant award that we give to people who make contributions to the community."

Nelson thanked the club for the award, and said he accepted it "very humbly." He added: "When you get older like me, it's fun to do these things. And it works two ways - the community's been awfully good to us."
