East Otter Tail County is about to gets its own version of “Dancing With the Stars.”
Even people who don’t usually watch this popular ABC TV dance competition won’t want to miss the local performance, which will pair some familiar faces from around the area with local dancers. Audience members will have the chance to vote for their favorites.
A fundraiser for the East Otter Tail Relay for Life, “Dancing With the Stars” is slated to take place Saturday, April 13 at the Perham High School Auditorium.
“Stars” performing that night will include such well-known local personalities as Perham Mayor Tim Meehl, New York Mills Mayor Julie Gerber, Dent Mayor Perry Coleman, Richville Mayor Terry Lee, Perham City Manager Kelcey Klemm, Miss Perham Leah Wuebben, Perham Spanish teacher Bob Tangen, and possibly others.
These “stars” will be partnered with local dancers Karlie Hoekstra, Dani Nelson, Samantha and Mollee Byer, Hailey Jutz, Cheyanne Hart, Chris Knutson, Gio Garcia and Mark Murphy.

There will also be special entertainment provided by other local dancers and musicians.
The show will begin at 7:30 p.m. Admission is $5, plus the optional cost of voting for favorite dance couples.
Tickets may be purchased at the door, or in advance at businesses in Perham, Ottertail, and New York Mills, as well as at the Perham Chamber office.
