Steve Quinn, senior editor of In-Fisherman Magazine, is the guest speaker for Perham Health’s annual Men’s Night  on Thursday, April 7, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at The Cactus, 43521 Fort Thunder Road, Perham.

The event is geared toward men 18 years and older and features experts on a variety of health topics specific to men’s health.

As a youth growing up in Manhattan, Quinn started fishing at the age of six after spending summers in the Adirondack Mountains of New York. Ever seeking new fishing experiences, he responded to a notice in the New York Times about the inaugural tournament of the New York B.A.S.S. Federation at Oneida Lake, and fished it in the summer of 1975. There he met other bass anglers and began a career of organized and competitive fishing.

Quinn fishes for a variety of other species as well. He is co-host of In-Fisherman Television and is a commentator on radio shows. As a certified fisheries scientist with the American Fisheries Society, he has published many scientific papers on fish biology and management.

Before joining In-Fisherman, Quinn worked as a fishery biologist for the Georgia Department of Natural Resources. He moved to Minnesota in 1988.
