Seven earn star rating in Parent Aware program
Several providers in Ottertail County are 'Letting Their Stars Shine!' as they earned star ratings in their profession. These providers have shown that they provide exceptional care of young children as they volunteered to participate in Parent Aware. When family-based, center-based and school-based early childhood care and education programs volunteer to participate in Parent Aware, they go above and beyond the basic health and safety requirements set by licensing.
Parent Aware is Minnesota's Quality Rating and Improvement System. When a program chooses to participate, they work towards implementing best practices that help keep children's early learning experiences on track. Parent Aware Rated programs are focused on getting children ready to succeed in Kindergarten and life. Parentaware.org is used to give parents information on how to identify and find quality child care for their children.
Some of the benefits of programs volunteering for Parent Aware include:
• Coaching that provides support to early care professionals as they work
• through the rating process
• Early Learning Scholarship eligibility for families
• Higher Child Care Assistance Rates
The Early Learning Professionals who have earned a star rating are: Jessica Hammer; Heidi Christensen; Alexis Nelson; Jennifer Pesek; Stephanie Kugler; Kerri Steinert; and Lisa Votaw.
