The Perham Lions Club is celebrating its 40th year of serving the community.
The club, chartered in 1972, has gone through many changes over the years, but its motto has stayed the same: "We Serve."
The Perham club has donated more than $2 million over the last four decades, and members give endless hours of their time to help community projects succeed, according to a press release. The club has received both state and national attention for its efforts.
Organizations and events that annually benefit from the Perham Lions include Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, local schools, Turtle Fest, the Perham food shelf, Feed My Starving Children, the Parade of Lights, and many more.
One charter member, John Knight, is still a part of the club today. There are currently more than 40 members total.

In honor of the Perham club's 40th anniversary, members are inviting all civic-minded individuals to join the Lions.
The club meets the first Thursday of each month at Mulligan's Pub and Eatery in Perham at 6:30 p.m.
The Perham Lions are also in the process of chartering a new Leo's Club, open to high school students interested in helping build a link between the school and the community. Currently, the Leo's Club has nine members to begin the chartering process.
Perham Lions members can provide more information. Officers include Earl Rydell, president; Diana Osterfeld, Randy Graham and Lisa Honer, vice-presidents; Gene Jahnke, treasurer; and Harriet Mattfeld, secretary.
