PERHAM — With a busy parking lot and spurts of people throughout the day, attendees explored this year’s Lakes Area Home and Cabin Show at the Perham Area Community Center on March 12.
From those looking to complete a home project, hoping for a boat or lake home, or wanting to add to their Pampered Chef collection, people were glad to dream of spring and summer. The show included 40 vendors for the one-day event.
“I really like talking to these vendors because it seems like I’m always finding out something new that they either offer or they’ve expanded and they offer more services,” said Rebecca Umland, Perham Area Chamber of Commerce marketing director.
Umland noted she was pleasantly surprised with the number of attendees as people transition out of the COVID-19 isolation era.
With the Perham Area Community Center construction in progress, the annual show was shortened from the usual two days. People walked through parts of the construction to the newly opened back gym and walking track for booths like the Taste of Perham and a new speaker stage. Speakers shared information about home projects, fishing, mortgages and landscaping.

The chamber is planning to hold a bigger show in 2023, when the PACC construction is complete. The PACC "fit-up" project is slated for completion by the end of 2022.
