Tony DeBlois, from Morris, Ill., is blind, autistic and has savant syndrome. He has been playing the piano since age 2. He was also the subject of the 1997 CBS made-for-TV Movie of the Week, "Journey of the Heart" which was inspired by actual events in Tony's life. This is currently playing on the Hallmark Channel.
Besides piano, Tony enjoys playing the organ, harmonica, guitar, harpsichord, English handbells, violin, banjo, drums, saxophone, clarinet, ukulele, mandolin flute and trumpet. For Tony, there are no “roadblocks'' but mere obstacles to be cast aside or skirted. His favorite phrase seems to be, “I haven’t learned that yet.” To learn more about Tony, go to https://www.tonydeblois.com .
Empowering Kids extends their thanks to Service Food/The Market and the Fergus Falls Center for the Arts for sponsoring this event and sharing this experience with the Perham community.
