Volleyball, bean bags, lunch: upcoming benefit for battle against leukemia

The Perham community is coming together to support the Hartwig family with an upcoming benefit for Teian Hartwig, who's currently battling leukemia.

The Perham community is coming together to support the Hartwig family with an upcoming benefit for Teian Hartwig, who's currently battling leukemia.

The benefit will take place on Saturday, Aug. 28, at the Playtime Sports Bar and Grill, which is located at 43974 390th St. in Perham. Events will include two volleyball tournaments, a bean bag tournament and lunch.

Volleyball registration, which costs $75 per team, starts at 2 p.m., and games start at 3 p.m. There will be a 14U tournament and an adult tournament; both will be double-elimination. Volleyball teams can have four to ten players, which will be co-ed and must have three women on the court at all times. There will be a max of six people playing at a time.

Volleyball games will rally points up to 21 and will be best of three. Both tournaments will have a prize for first and second place teams.

Bean bag tournament registration, which costs $25 per person, starts at 4 p.m., and the tournament will start at 5 p.m. It will also be double-elimination, and prizes will be given to first, second and third place winners.

Lunch will be served for free-will donations.
