As December approaches, the streets of Perham are filled with a festive, holiday spirit. This year, the Calvary Lutheran Church — located at 619 Third Avenue SW — will be hosting its Calvary Christmas Bake Shoppe on Saturday, Dec. 4 from 9–11 a.m. Attendees will be able to purchase handmade items and home-baked goods.
There will be seven festive shops arranged in the fellowship hall to greet shoppers, and the Pantry will feature Calvary Pickle Packer’s dill pickles. Two days before the event, a crew of lefse-makers will be in Calvary’s kitchen rolling out that Scandinavian delicacy for Calvary’s Smakte Godt (tastes good) Lefse Shop.
The traditional boxes of three dozen cookies will be found in the Cookie Store, and the Craft Shop and Kids and Quilts Corner will both be back again.
There will also be a new Minnesota store this year, featuring state-shaped pillows and bread boards. Another new addition is a Take-and-Go beverage station near the check-out exit.
All donations will go toward Empowering Kids.
