Girls hockey: Lakers play outdoors in St. Paul against Mankato East

The Detroit Lakes girls hockey team traveled to the North Dale Recreation Center in St. Paul to play an outdoor hockey game against Mankato East.

The Lakers (3-11) fell to the Cougars (12-4) 11-0. Mckenzie Keller buried four goals and added an assist to lead the way for Mankato East. Jess Eykyn had a two-goal game, while Kailey Newton and Ashley Fischer each had three assists.

On Thursday night, the Lakers went to Breezy Point to take on the Northern Lakes Lightning for the second time this season. Detroit Lakes fell 14-0 behind an eight-point night from the Lightning’s Rose Aldridge. She had four goals and four assists.

Riley Fogerty had three goals and two assists, while Kiana Land and Ava Merta each had a pair of goals. Meta added four assists for a six-point game.

Emma Wahl started both games in goal for the Lakers and made a total of 56 saves.
