Organizers expect about 250 to 300 people from all over the area, and even from several states, to attend the seventh annual Polka Daze in Ottertail Thursday through Saturday, Sept. 8-10.
"People come from all over. It is very well attended," said Ottertail Lions Club president Mike Potocki. "Last year we had three couples from the state of Washington and two couples from Canada."
The event, sponsored by the Ottertail Lions, will have the same format as in previous years, he said. The Lions Club will set up a large tent with a wooden dance floor and "go from there." Admission is $7 on Thursday; $14 on Friday; and $15 on Saturday. A three-day pass is available for $35.
Bands scheduled to perform include Eric's Dance Band from 6 to 10 p.m. Thursday; Friday's bands will include Top Notchmen from noon to 7 p.m. in intervals of one hour; and Jerry B. and Joyce from 1 to 8 p.m., also in intervals of one hour.
On Saturday, Leon Olsen will perform at noon, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.; and Top Notchmen will perform from 1 to 2 p.m., 3 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. All bands play waltz, two-step, polka, country and variety.
