An up-and-coming Chicago singer has recorded a song about a Menahga man and his dog.
Brittany Jean met Brad Livingston and his dog, Roxie, at Mount Rushmore last summer and was moved by his story.
Livingston is a Gulf and Iraq war veteran who has been speaking out and bringing awareness to Post Traumatic Stress Disorder with the help of his service dog, Roxie, a Belgian Malinois.
Roxie has helped him control his PTSD. Brittany Jean wrote and recorded the song “Roxie” in a Nashville studio, which will be featured on her album “Whispered Stories.” A photo of Livingston and Roxie will be on the cover of the album.
The album is Brittany Jean’s first country/folk album and was funded through Kickstarter, an online funding site. “Whispered Stories” will include 11 original songs.
