Come sing along, clap, and groove out to the 60's music everyone knows and loves at the upcoming 60's Rockin' Hour.

The event is planned for Friday, August 20 at 7 p.m. at Perham United Methodist Church. The church is located at 223 4th Avenue SE, one block east of Service Food. For more information call 218-346-7420.

"It's an invitation to the community to come have fun with us," says Perham Methodist Pastor Rob Pesola. "We like to put on community events to help people see that Christians can have fun too."

The Beatles, Neil Diamond, Simon and Garfunkel, Elvis Presley, and The Beach Boys are just some of the popular artists who will be featured at the 60's Rockin' Hour.

The crowd will be entertained by songs such as "Yesterday," "A Hard Day's Night," "Where Have All the Flowers Gone," "Sweet Caroline," "Feelin' Groovy," "The Lion Sleeps Tonight," "Proud Mary," and "Wipe Out."

Pastor Rob Pesola will play keyboard for many of the songs. He will be joined by his 15-year-old son, Noah Pesola, on the drums. Barb Ebert will be featured on guitar, along with playing keyboard on a few songs. A group of singers will accompany the musical trio.

People of all ages are welcome to attend the community event. Pastor Pesola hints at some of the fun planned for the evening, saying, "We've got costumes, headbands and tie-dye shirts."

According to Pesola, the plan is for the church to hold a community event every month or two. In June, the church sponsored a concert with soloist Melanie Koltes.
