NY Mills Corn Feed Friday

The annual New York Mills Corn Feed, a community-wide event celebrating the upcoming harvest, takes place Friday, August 13.

Sponsored by the New York Mills Civic & Commerce Association, the Corn Feed is 4-7 p.m. at the Central Park shelter.

The sweet corn is picked fresh Friday morning and a full pick-up load is hauled to town, where volunteers gather at noon to shuck in time for the feed's start at 4 p.m. Volunteers are still needed to help shuck Friday afternoon.

Along with free corn for everybody, food vendors will be selling a variety of goods in Central Park.

Kids activities include a bounce house, 3-7 p.m., in the park, Free Swim Day at the Legried Community Pool from 1-5 p.m., and carwash by the New York Mills Fire Department from 4-7 p.m.

The Miss New York Mills royalty will be selling hot dogs and tacos in a bag to raise money for their programming. They will also be selling snow cones and cotton candy, proceeds going to the Shriners Hospital.

A dunk booth will be one of the popular attractions along with airbrush tattoos also provided by the royalty.

There will be beer sales outside Mills Liquors, 4-7 p.m.

Everyone is welcome to attend and celebrate the agricultural roots and community pride of New York Mills. This is truly a unique event.
