Members of Perham Methodist Church performed to a packed house on Friday, August 20, singing a selection of songs from the 1960's. Those who attended were each greeted at the door with a program and a peace symbol necklace. Television theme songs from the 60's played in the background as people entered the sanctuary. The program opened and ended with a bang with Noah Pesola on drums, beating out "Wipe Out" by The Surfaris. Barbara Ebert accompanied Noah. After performing "The Lion Sleeps Tonight," Pastor Rob Pesola welcomed the audience and encouraged them to sing along. The audience joined in on well-known favorites of The Beatles; Peter, Paul and Mary; Elvis; The Turtles; and Joan Baez, just to name a few. The performers interjected well-known commercials from the 60's, which were met with roars of laughter from the audience. The night concluded with light refreshments served in the church's fellowship hall.
