By 10:30 a.m. Monday, readers had already made it to Leviticus 25 as they read the Bible from Genesis to Revelation.

Perham's first Bible Reading Marathon is this week in N.P. Park next to the U.S. Post Office.

The event began Sunday, June 14, and runs through Sunday, June 21. It is being put on with the help of Jess and Bonnie Roediger from Bible Reading Ministry International.

Heidi Studer from the Bible Marathon said participation can be improved, and more readers are needed.

Volunteers who would like to read can sign up for a 15-minute time slot, or groups of seven to 14 readers can sign up for a three-and-a-half-hour time slot.

The marathon is 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. through Saturday, and 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Those interested in reading or who have questions should contact Studer at 218-371-7291.
