Richville church to celebrate 20 years of giving

The Richville United Methodist Church will be celebrating its clothing mission's 20-year anniversary on Sunday, Oct. 17, starting with a church service at 10:30 a.m.

In 2001, several members of the Richville United Methodist Church realized their community needed a place to receive free clothing, items and anything else they needed. So, they got together and formed the church's clothing mission.

Since then, the mission has expanded from its original eight-foot shed to taking up half of the church basement, with many different people in five different counties helped by the service.

It's been 20 years since the first days of the clothing mission, and the church will be celebrating this anniversary on Sunday, Oct. 17 starting with a church service at 10:30 a.m. Afterward, at noon, the church — located at 130 First Street West in Richville — will hold a program to further celebrations, including pictures and videos. There will also be a brunch.
