MOORHEAD, Minn. -- A 20-year-old woman faces charges linked to a crash that killed a 48-year-old motorcyclist in August at an Interstate 94 exit near Barnesville.

Sarah Jo Braith, of Buffalo, was charged Friday in Clay County District Court with criminal vehicular homicide and criminal vehicular operation resulting in substantial bodily harm, both felonies.

Minnesota State Highway Patrol officials said Braith was the driver in the Aug. 30 crash that killed Angela Pangelinan, 48, and injured her 49-year-old husband, Michael Pangelinan.

The Pangelinans, both of Moorhead, were riding separate motorcycles south on Minnesota Highway 9 just north of Barnesville when they collided with Braith’s car, a Chevrolet Cruze, as she attempted to turn left off the interstate exit ramp.

Angela Pangelinan was airlifted to an area hospital, and pronounced dead. Her husband was seriously injured.
