Submitted photo Perham High School stu-dents Cara Ashcroft, Courtney Walter and Amanda Sack delivered 622 pounds of donated food to the Perham Community Food Shelf on Halloween – a big ‘treat’ for the organization.

Halloween turned out to be a special day of treats for the Perham Community Food Shelf.

In the morning, the sixth grade class from St. Henry’s Area School toured the food shelf and then volunteered to package nearly 700 pounds of potatoes. The potatoes were broken up into bags of seven to eight pounds each.

The bags of potatoes will be distributed to clients who visit the food shelf on Tuesdays.

In the afternoon, three Perham High School students delivered 622 pounds of food to the food shelf. The donations were collected during a food drive conducted by Perham Public schools. All of the public schools were involved in the drive, including Heart of the Lakes Elementary School, Prairie Wind Middle School and Perham High School.
