Groundbreaking for Heart of the Lakes Elementary additions is June 14
In response to voter support of the referendum last November, Perham-Dent Public Schools will host a groundbreaking ceremony for additions planned on Heart of the Lakes Elementary School, which includes a gymnasium, classroom wing, and relocation of the Kids Adventure Preschool.
The public is invited to attend the ceremony on Tuesday, June 14 at noon, at the Heart of the Lakes bus corral. In case of inclement weather, the ceremony will be moved to the HOTL gymnasium.
"As we look forward to creating a better future for our students, schools and communities, I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you for passage of the referendum so we can maximize the positive effect this great school system strives to have on each and every one of our students," said District Superintendent Mitch Anderson.
The ceremony precedes another groundbreaking ceremony for the new high school, which will be held in the fall. The projects are a result of taxpayer approval for a $45 million project set to be completed by the fall of 2018.
