Candidates sought to compete in Perham pageants

The Perham Pageant Committee is seeking candidates for the titles of Miss Perham, Miss Heart of the Lakes and Miss Heart of the Lakes Outstanding Teen.

The pageant will be held Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018, at 6 p.m. at the Perham High School Auditorium.

The young women crowned Miss Perham and Miss Heart of the Lakes will be awarded $500 educational scholarships and the opportunity to compete for the title of Miss Minnesota in June of 2018.

The girl crowned Miss Heart of the Lakes Outstanding Teen will be awarded the official Miss America local crown, sash, and the opportunity to compete for the title of Miss Minnesota's Outstanding Teen in June of 2018.

Title holders will represent the area at local, regional and state events throughout their reigning year. They will have the opportunity to promote a personal platform of their choice and promote the official Miss America platform, Children's Miracle Network.

Contestants must meet eligibility requirements for residency and be U.S. citizens.

The Miss Perham title is open to women that live within 30 miles of Perham and are 17-24 years old, have never been married and have no children.

The Miss Heart of The Lakes title is open to any woman between the ages of 17-24 who lives, works full time, or is a full time student in the state of Minnesota, has never been married and has no children.

The Miss Heart of the Lakes Outstanding Teen title is open to girls between the ages of 13-17 who live in Minnesota, have never been married and have no children.

Paperwork and applications can be found at www.missperhamscholarships.com. The application deadline is Friday, Dec. 15.
