Otterdazzle lights up the night with fireworks
Otterdazzle lit up the night with Christmas trees and its biggest display of fireworks to date, sponsored by the Ottertail Lions Club.
"We had really good feedback after the fireworks, and we had such a nice evening for it too, didn't have to sit in your car and watch it, you could be outside," said Jerry Smith, president of the Ottertail Lions Club.
The day's events were kicked off with a pancake breakfast cooked by the Lions, and Smith said by the end they fed 228 people. "We were constantly busy, and our eight new Lion members jumped right in to help. It was great," he added.
The craft show took place during the day, along with cookie decorating, the bucket raffle, a hay ride and a visit by Santa. New this year was the lighting of Christmas trees in the community park. Businesses and groups were invited to set up and decorate a tree. Some went with traditional lights and garland, while others went with the theme of their business, such as All Seasons Heating and Cooling using ductwork instead of traditional garland or Ottertail Aggregate adorning the top of their tree with a caution cone instead of a star.
After the fireworks, 102 filled up the community center for the chili feed, with a portion of the free will donation going to the food bank.
