The VFW Auxiliary Fall Americanism Contest had 125 students participate this year. Kindergarten and first graders who chose to participate colored a picture of the American Eagle and second and first graders who chose to participate colored a picture of Betsy Ross. Fourth and fifth graders wrote an essay on the story of the Statue of Liberty.
Americanism is a state contest to promote patriotism in elementary age children.
First, second, and third place winners/prizes were awarded at each grade level and sent on for further competition at the district level.
