Chelsey Torgerson, who recently gave birth to their second son, shows off her newborn wrapped in one of the handmade blankets from New Creation Lutheran Church, which was given to her at Perham Health.

The Blankets of Love Ministry began at New Creation Lutheran Church about a year ago and they have since provided 50 blankets to newborns at Perham Health. Right now there are six women actively involved in crocheting these blankets. Two additional women sew on the labels bearing the phrase "Blessings from New Creation Lutheran Church". The yarn was purchased with the support of the Thrivent Action Team.

Tonya Diggins, Chelsey's midwife, said the families receiving the blankets are very grateful and moved by the fact that women who are strangers to them would take so many hours to make a gift for their little one.
