Sheriff deputies, on July 2, reported that an 18-year-old man was seriously injured during a fall from rafters while a barn was under construction northeast of Bluffton.
The accident took place at 3:51 p.m. on July 1 near the intersection of Highways 75 and 68 in Blowers Township of northeastern Otter Tail County.
County Sheriff Administrative Lt. Keith Van Dyke said the Sebeka Fire and Rescue personnel arrived on the scene as did Wadena Ambulance. The victim was later airlifted to Sanford Medical Center in Fargo.
Two-car accident along Highway 59
Sheriff deputies reported, in conjunction with the State Highway Patrol, a two-car accident late in the afternoon of July 1 on Highway 59.
The mishap took place in northwestern Otter Tail County. There were injuries but no further details were immediately available on July 2.
Authorities reported graffiti on a playground in Dalton just prior to the Fourth of July. Several pieces of playground equipment had been spray painted.
Reward posters were installed, saying $500 would be given to the person leading to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for the damage.
A theft was reported July 2 northeast of Vergas, at 396th Avenue. Taken were a 32-inch flat screen TV, tools and antique fishing lures.
The theft of $400 in cash was reported July 2 at Deer Creek. A possible suspect denied taking the money.
Cyclist injured after collision with deer
A 51-year-old Parkers Prairie woman, Jennifer Pullins, was injured at 4:02 p.m. on July 7 when her motorcycle struck a deer near Butler in northeastern Otter Tail County.
She had been traveling southbound on Highway 67 when the collision with the deer caused her to lose control of the motorcycle. She was wearing a helmet and was transported from the scene by LifeLink helicopter.
Perham EMS and New York Mills fire personnel assisted sheriff deputies.
One injured in car and dirt bike accident
One person was injured in a car and dirt bike accident July 5 north of Fergus Falls, near the intersection of Deerfield Drive and 180th Avenue.
The person who had been riding the dirt bike stopped to fix a chain and was hit by a vehicle driven by a person who was providing lights for the dirt bike.
The injured individual was airlifted to Fargo Sanford for treatment of injuries.
