New York Mills School District received a check for more than $600 for participating in the "Powerade 4 Schools" program through Viking Coca-Cola Bottling Company. "The program's goal is to encourage active lifestyles through the support of school athletic programs," a press release from Coke stated. A percentage of all Powerade sold throughout the surrounding area is divided among participating high schools based on a percentage of purchased beverages. NY Mills earned its portion in a two-month time period, which is when all the Pepsi machines in the school were replaced with Coke machines, making the school a participator.
