Otter Tail County Election Administration encourages voters to verify or update their voter registration by Tuesday, Oct. 18, to save time at the polling site on election day. Registration will close temporarily for 20 days prior to the general election on Nov. 8, and reopen on election day.

Absentee voting officially begins on Friday, Sept. 23, and with some limited exceptions ends at 5 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 7.
Voters interested in this option may stop at the Otter Tail County auditor-treasurer's office, at the Government Services Center, located at 510 Fir Ave. W., Fergus Falls, to complete an absentee ballot application and cast their ballot in person, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday beginning Sept. 23, or from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5; and until 5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 7.

Fully complete the paper absentee ballot application and then submit it to the Otter Tail County Auditor - Treasurer's office for processing either by mail, fax or email. As soon as the application is received an absentee ballot package will be mailed out. Mailing time to the voter and its return to the auditor-treasurer's office should be allowed for in the process. Late ballots will not be counted if received after Election Day and cannot be returned by email or fax.
