Man struck, killed by pickup plow north of Brainerd

MERRIFIELD, Minn. - A 51-year-old Merrifield man died after he was struck Thursday, Dec. 27, by a pickup with a snowplow on the 24000 block of Crow Wing County Road 19, the Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office reported.

The collision was reported at 8:38 p.m. The victim, Michael Paul Donnay, was in the roadway when he was struck by the pickup, the sheriff's office reported.

Donnay was pronounced dead at the scene. At the time of the accident, road conditions and visibility were very poor.

Merrifield is about 10 miles north of Brainerd.

Donnay was transported to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office. The driver of the pickup, James Ronald Wood, 24, of Merrifield, was not injured.
