Otter Tail County sheriff deputies reported thefts southeast of Erhard and northwest of Vergas.
- The theft near Vergas was reported on Dec. 6. Taken from a camper were coins and jewelry. An active investigation was continuing as of Dec. 9.
- The theft near Erhard was reported on Dec. 7. Taken from a shed was a snowblower with two augers and a three-point mount. The value was estimated between $1,000 and $1,200. There were no immediate suspects.
Drug arrest made near Perham
One man was arrested at 10:52 p.m. on Dec. 7, north of Perham.
He was charged with drug impairment and in possession of drugs. The suspect was taken to the county detention center in Fergus Falls.
The arrest was made at the intersection of Harvest Avenue and 508th Street.
1 injured in Perham-area accident
Otter Tail County sheriff deputies reported that at 4:29 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, one person was injured in a two-vehicle accident near Perham. The mishap took place at the intersection of Highway 125 and Fort Thunder Road, southwest of town.
Receiving a minor injury, with knee pain, was Sharon Helene Toedter, 82, of Perham. She was a passenger in a vehicle driven by Phillip Aaron Toedter, 84, also of Perham.
The driver of the other vehicle was Amber Rae Ida Sazama, 27, of Frazee.
Sheriff deputies said Sazama had been southbound on Highway 125 and was performing a U-turn while approaching Fort Thunder Road. The Toedters were also traveling southbound on Highway 125.
Sazama’s vehicle ran into the side of the Toedter vehicle while Sazama was performing the U-turn, deputies said. Sazama as issued a citation for a traffic violation.
The Toedters had been traveling in a 2003 Buick Park Avenue and Sazama was driving a 2010 Chevrolet Impala. All occupants were wearing seatbelts.
Motorcycle vandalized near New York Mills
Sheriff deputies, on Dec. 8, received a report of vandalism to a motorcycle. The incident reportedly took place northeast of New York Mills, at a residence near Highway 56.
Icy roads lead to mishap, injuries near Perham
Icy roads resulted in a traffic accident near Perham at 12:02 p.m. Monday, Dec. 2. Minor injuries were reported after two vehicles collided on 440th Street.
An 18-year-old driver was in a vehicle that struck a company vehicle. No citations were issued.
Thieves strike again at the same location
Thieves who stole items from a location on Highway 108, west of Pelican Rapids in August, attempted to steal again at he same location on Dec. 2.
But this time they were unsuccessful. Only a lock was cut on Dec. 2 and nothing was taken from the property.
