Alice (A.J.) Sheldrup, 71, of Bozeman, Montana, died April 21, 2006 at the Bozeman Deaconess Hospital.
She was born April 9, 1935 in Hobart Township, Otter Tail County, Minnesota, to Adolph and Bertha Ratz. She graduated from Frazee High School. After Graduation, she married Marlyn Sheldrup, who she later divorced. Alice lived in several places in Minnesota, including Brooklyn Center, Marshall, and Mankato. After leaving Minnesota, she lived in California, Arkansas, and Montana.
After living in many places, and gathering many friends, Alice finally found her true calling as an artist, specializing in watercolors. She was a charter member of the Bozeman Artists Collections Gallery and a member of the Montana Institute of Arts.
She is survived by her children Paula (Brad) Leach of Lakeville, Minnesota, Susan (Gordon) Greggory of Decatur, Illinois, and Diane Davis of Harlowton, Montana; grandchildren Kathleen, Sarah, and Adam; and great-grandchildren Grace and Amelie; brothers John and Leo Ratz of Frazee, Minnesota; and sister Jean Thayer of Cody, Wyoming.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Roger.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 20, 2006 at the Vergas Methodist Church, Vergas, Minnesota, at 11 a.m. Family and friends may gather one hour prior to the service in the church.
