Alice C. Bond, 72, of Elbow Lake, formerly Fergus Falls died Thursday at the Eleah Medical Center in Elbow Lake.
She was born February 10, 1934 in Dead Lake Township of Otter Tail County on the family farm to Reinhold and Juanita (Zietek) Harthun. She received her education at District 239 country school. After her schooling, she worked at various places in Perham. On August 11, 1954, she was united in marriage to James Bond in Perham. The couple made their home in Fergus Falls where Alice worked at the Regional Treatment Center. She retired in 1996 after working there for 22 years. In 2003, Alice moved to Elbow Lake to live with her favorite daughter.
She enjoyed crocheting, crossword puzzles, going for drives and going to Debbie's Kitchen. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and the Eagle's Auxiliary.
She is survived by her daughter, Anita (Pete) Tangen of Elbow Lake; four sons: Terry Harthun of Gillette, WY, Neil (Jayne) Bond of Fergus Falls, Randy (Diane) Bond of Fergus Falls and Brian (Deb) Bond of West Fargo, ND; 11 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and a brother, Ralph "Pete" Harthun of Dent, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, Timothy Bond and three brothers: Reinhold Carl Harthun, Jr., Floyd "Jim" Harthun and Lloyd "Hoppy" Harthun.
Visitation: Wednesday from 5 to 8 P.M. at the Glende-Nilson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls.
