Anne Lassen

Anne I. Lassen, Beloved Mother & Grandmother, age 91 of Stillwater, MN, passed away on October 25, 2006. Anne was born on February 17, 1915 in New York Mills, MN; the daughter of Victor and Selina (Mattalamaki) Heino. She was raised in Mills with 6 sisters and 4 brothers. Now of those many siblings only Lillian, Mimi and Kenny remain. Anne's life was blessed with a daughter, Jane and sons, Jay and Jan. Her children meant the world to her and she provided for her family as a homemaker and breadwinner for her children. One of Anne's greatest joys was cooking and baking for her family. She was famous for her delicious popovers and waffles. Her tuna noodle hot dish was always a treat. Anne loved playing the card games 500 and rummy and also shot a good game of pool up to six months go. Most of all she treasured time with her family and especially her grandchildren. She was a loving and most gracious mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed. She will remain in the hearts of her daughter Jane Paskvan of Stillwater; son Jan (Jill) Lassen of Hudson; grandchildren: Troy Breezee, Jay Erickson, Lindsey (Nate) Amberg, Nathan Lassen & Laura Lassen; siblings: Lillian (Oliver) Kuivinen of Fergus Falls, MN, Kenny Heino of Talent, OR & Mimi (Mel) Jarvi of Cromwell, MN. She is preceded in death by son Jay Lassen of the U.S. Navy 1972. Anne's family will reflect and celebrate her life privately with a service of remembrance.
