Funeral Mass was held for Arnold Weller of New York Mills, Minnesota on Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Don Wagner officiating. The music was provided by Jeannie Roggenkamp and Linda Imdieke. The pallbearers were Mike Weller, Chad Weller, David Weller, Darin Johnson, Shawn Meyer, Eric Weller, Nick Weller and Jeff Guck. The honorary pallbearers were Richard & Sharon Ericksrud, Al & Jeannie Roggenkamp, Gary & Lorretta Buckmeier, Ralph & Dot Schwartz, Gilbert & Diane Wegscheid, Ross & Lisa Meech, Donald Dumont and Danny Volkman. Military honors were provided by the Charles D. Center V.F.W. Post #3289 of New York Mills, Minnesota. Arnold was laid to rest in St. John Cemetery in Bluffton, Minnesota.
Arnold Joseph Weller was born on December 15, 1929 in Bluffton, Minnesota. His parents were the late John and Scholastica (Wegscheid) Weller. Arnie grew up on the family farm in Bluffton, Minnesota. He attended school in rural Bluffton, Minnesota, Otter Tail County. Arnie served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War from 1951 to 1954. On June 13, 1955 Arnie was united in marriage to Marjorie Kowalski at Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. They made their home in New York Mills, Minnesota. Arnie farmed and drove milk truck for Bluffton Creamery for many years. He enjoyed hunting, and the adventures of fishing trips, music and dancing. He loved to watch his children and grandchildren play sports and family events. On December 2, 2007 Arnie passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Preceding Arnie in death was a child, Eugene Arnold Weller; his parents, John & Scholastica Weller; brother, Duane Weller; brothers-in-law: Duane Kowalski; Robert Kowalski; Leo Andrie; George Kato and Rein Langer; a nephew, Marty Kowalski and a niece, Lynn Marie Kato.
Arnie is survived by his wife of 52 years, Marjorie of New York Mills; his children: Wayne & Deb of New York Mills; Doug & Janeen of New York Mills; Patty of St. Cloud; Georgia of Salt Lake City, Utah; Mary & Bruce of New York Mills; Josie & LeRoy of New York Mills; Linda & Dan of Belgrade; Terry & Jan of Perham; Leo & Tracy of New York Mills; Cindy & Kelly of Fosston; Eddie of New York Mills; Connie & Ernie of New York Mills; 30 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; brothers & sisters: Donald Weller of Wadena; Bernice & Bill Bretz of Osakis; Kenneth & Dorthy Weller of Cross Lake; Arlene Kato of Great Falls; Isabelle Langer of Bluffton; Johanna & Mark Kato of Havre, Montana; Joe & Joanie Weller of Henning; Judy & Collin McLeod of Aberdeen, South Dakota; sisters-in-law: Eileen Weller of Merced, California; Deloris & Mel Duenow of Fergus Falls; Ardy & Arland Wahl of Fergus Falls; many other relatives and a host of friends.
