It will be a busy summer in Perham, in more ways than one.
Not only will the city be undergoing a large scale street improvement project, there are numerous special events planned in the community.
The Perham City Council acted on several beer-dance permits, use of the city park and sidewalk sale requests.
St. Henry's to host dance in June
Approved for beer and dance permits were the St. Henry's Catholic Church and the Perham Jaycees.

The church is hosting a dance in late June as a fundraiser for the St. Henry's Catholic School. Proceeds will be used to purchase playground equipment.
Jaycees Turtle Fest dance June 22
The Jaycees will be serving beer at the annual Turtle Fest dance, slated June 22 at the East Otter Tail Fairgrounds.
Dreams for Kids picnic downtown May 25
The local "Make A Wish-Dreams for Kids" group will be hosting a family picnic in the turtle park, downtown.
The May 25 event will be from 4 to 7 p.m., with games, activities and food.
Average Jo date set June 30
Kinship requested authorization to use the Paul Miller Park June 30, from 6 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., for the annual Average Jo Triathlon.

Downtown Farmers Markets planned
The NP Park will be used for Farmers Markets on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, organized by the Perham Area Chamber of Commerce.
Turtle Races at NP Park
Turtle Races will be held in the City Hall Park, Wednesdays, from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
Sidewalk sale dates set
Sidewalk sales days have been set by the Perham Area Chamber: May 26, June 22-23, July 7, August 3-5, August 18-19, Sept. 1-3 and Oct. 6.
