The memorial service for Bertha M. Blauert, 91, Frazee, MN originally Height of Land, MN will be held on Sunday, September 10, 2006 at 2 p.m. in St. John's Lutheran Church-Height of Land, Frazee with Reverend Richard Boehnke officiating. Burial will be held in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the church. Bertha died on Monday, September 4, 2006 in the Frazee Care Center.
Bertha Mary Holzhauer was born the daughter of Robert and Clara (Weinkauf) Holzhauer on September 29, 1914 in Richland County in North Dakota. As a young child, she moved with her family to Height of Land Township, near Frazee. There she was raised and attended country school. In 1936, she was united in marriage to Emil A. Blauert. They farmed in Height of Land Township for 40 years. Emil died in 1987.
Bertha was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church-Height of Land where she served many years as a Sunday school teacher and member of the Ladies Aid. She entered the Frazee Care Center in September 2002. Bertha loved to garden and share her harvest of fruits, vegetables and flowers. In her retirement, Bertha made dozens of quilts and afghans for family and friends.
Bertha is survived by her three children, Harry (Virginia) of Parkers Prairie, MN; David (Linda) of Sedona, AZ; and Carol Blaich of Edmonds, Washington. Bertha is also survived by seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Emil, two brothers, Elroy and Reinhard.
