Betty Nelson, age 70 of Ottertail, MN died on Sunday October 15, 2006 at the Perham Memorial Hospital in Perham, MN. Funeral services were scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday October 18, 2006 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Henning, MN with Pastor Roger Johnson officiating. Casketbearers were: Randy Christenson, Greg Grabow, Tim Grabow, Jeff Grabow, Rick Peterson, Dennis Peterson, Gary Peterson, and Wayne Peterson. Interment will be in Good Shepherd Cemetery at Henning. Visitation was from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 17, 2006 at the Belmont Funeral Home in Henning. A prayer service was held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Betty Jean Peterson was born in Milbank, South Dakota on September 17, 1936 the daughter of Eddie and Esther (Algren) Peterson. She moved with her family to Henning, Minnesota in 1946 from Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She was married to Donovan Krause on January 1, 1954 in Bertha, MN. They lived in Richfield, MN and became the parents of two children: Kevin Charles Krause and Julie Lynn Krause. Betty worked as a hospital housekeeper at Fairview Southdale Hospital in suburban Minneapolis, MN. She was married to James August Nelson on May 26, 1974 in Minneapolis.
Betty is survived by a son: Kevin, Ottertail, MN and his children: Jesse Donovan and Katlin O'Brien Krause; a sister: Helen Grabow, Henning, MN; Brother: Duane (Marlene) Peterson, Henning; sister-in-law: Dolores Peterson, Henning, and a brother-in-law: Art Christenson, of Henning; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her daughter: Julie; her parents; a brother: LuVerne; a sister: Gladys; and a nephew: Mike P.
