Employees were evacuated from a Perham business Saturday after area firefighters were called to the business around noon on a report of a fire in some equipment there.
According to Perham Fire Chief Mark Schmidt, his department received a call around noon Saturday that there was a fire in a dryer at Bongard's Creameries at 110 3rd. Ave. NE.
Schmidt said firefighters had to go all the way to the fourth floor of the building to put out the blaze.
"It only took about a half hour to actually put out the fire, but we were on the scene for about two hours making sure nothing flared up again," said Schmidt.
Schmidt said the dryer unit sustained most of the damage while there was very little damage elsewhere.

"There were no injuries and employees exited the building as their emergency plan called for," said Schmidt.
According to Schmidt, the incident remains under investigation, but he said it's pretty apparent the fire started because of some problem in the dryer.
Fire departments from Dent and New York Mills were also at the fire scene to provide backup aid.
In an unrelated matter, Schmidt said his department responded to a fire alarm Friday night at the Super 8 Motel in Perham. He said it turned out to be a false alarm because of a fire alarm malfunction.
