The Perham Buzz American Legion team is getting hot at the right time. Since dropping to .500 (7-7) on July 6, the Buzz have gone 10-3, including winning four of five games last week.

Perham began their final stretch with a 12-8 win at Frazee last Wednesday. They followed that up with a doubleheader sweep against Fergus Falls on Thursday.

The Buzz took game one, 3-1. Herschel Masinas broke up a 1-1 tie with a two-run hit in the bottom of the fifth. That allowed Philip Moenkedick, who struck out eight batters, to pick up a win.

Perham completed the sweep with a 13-0 win in game two. Mac Stoll allowed just one-hit in picking up the win.

Isaac Stoll, Marcus Hendrickson and Tom Baumgart each had three hits for the Buzz. Andy Kratzke added a solo homer.

Perham split a doubleheader with Moorhead on Monday, losing game one 3-2, then bouncing back for a 10-9 win in game two.

The Buzz (17-10) will host Detroit Lakes today (July 26) in a doubleheader at Krueger Field. It will be the last regular season game before the District Tournament in Roseau Aug. 2-5.

Mills in Sub-District Tournament

New York Mills Post 116 had a forfeit in their final regular season game at Pelican Rapids last Friday. Mills (4-11) will play in the Sub-District Tournament at D-G-F this weekend.
