There's more than just a chill in the air and the holiday season is blowing in quickly. As winter approaches, the Perham Lions Club and the Perham Chamber of Commerce are gearing up for their 6th Annual Holiday Parade of Lights.

The parade will be held on Friday, November 24, beginning at 6 p.m. All entries for the parade must be received no later than November 17. There is no entry fee to enter a float in the parade.

Prizes will be awarded to floats for the following categories: Most Creative, Best Use of Lights, Best Use of a Religious Theme, and Mayor's Choice. Float entries are encouraged to hand out candy or other holiday items to the crowd, but cautioned not to throw candy from the floats.

Floats must be lined up, in position, by 5 p.m. The parade route and line-up point will be published in the Perham Enterprise Bulletin.

When lighting a float, please remember that the lights placed on the float are the only lights observers will have to see the float. The use of spot lights and other holiday lights to light people, decorations, posters, or other items on the float is strongly encouraged. As a general rule, it is a good idea to double the number of lights you think you will need.
