Cecelia A. Buettner, age 91, of Bluffton, passed-away December 7, 2007, at Perham Memorial Hospital. She was born to Lorenz and Theresia (Jeno) Stoderl on June 20, 1916 in rural Bluffton.
Cecelia was united in marriage to Alfred Buettner, by Father N. P. Junker, on June 6, 1939 at St. John's Catholic Church in Bluffton. She lived her entire life in the Bluffton community and was a member of the Christian Mothers Society and St. Mary's Mission Circle. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, knitting, quilting, making cancer pads for the missions, and eating at her favorite restaurants.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; 15 brothers and sisters; and one grandson. Cecelia is survived by son, Richard "Dick" Buettner of Bluffton; daughters, Bernice (Norman) Jahnke of Deer Creek, Darlene (Don) Holtti of Bluffton, Sharon (Dave) Folkestad of Wadena and Debbie (John) Anderson of Bluffton; 15 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren; and sister Margaret Kinney of Clovis, CA.
Honorary pallbearers were Jodi Haman, Cindy Schmitt, Brittany Anderson and Cecelia's great-grandchildren. Active pallbearers were Gene Jahnke, Bill Holtti, David Folkestad, Cory Anderson, Scott Jahnke, Brian Holtti, Darren Folkestad, Todd Anderson, Mike Jahnke, Rick Holtti, Steve Jahnke, and Randy Jahnke.
The Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11:00AM on Tuesday, December 11, 2007, at St John the Baptist Catholic Church in Bluffton, with Father Donald Wagner as celebrant. Interment was at St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Bluffton. Johnson Memorial Home was in charge of the arrangements. ( www.johnsonmemorialhome.com )
