A Spring Band Concert on Monday wasnt quite the final swan song for Bill Brown - theres still one concert remaining - but the end is nearing for the longtime music director in New York Mills. Brown is retiring after 35 years teaching music and directing concerts in Mills. Mondays performance saw the Junior High Concert Band play Crazy Train, Born to be Wild, Aftershock, Pretty Fly and Eagles Marching Medley.
The Senior High Concert Band played Caravan, Variations on an African Hymnsong, And the Angels Called (a tribute to some of Browns former students who have died), In a Gentle Rain, and Pirates of the Caribbean.
Each year Brown hands out his end of the year awards at the spring concert.

Browns final two performances with the band will be the Schools Out concert on May 23 and Commencement on May 26. The band will also perform on Memorial Day May 29.
