The county's Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) Task Force is preparing for the 2019 summer boating season.
Spencer McGrew, Otter Tail County's aquatic invasive species specialist, told county commissioners that 18 watercraft inspectors will be returning this summer.
Chris LeClair, the county's Land and Resource Department director, said the watercraft inspector program has been well received by the general public.
Extensive discussion took place about existing procedures and practices. No changes were recommended.
County probation office looks to alternative sites

The Otter Tail County Probation Office, currently operating from offices at the county courthouse south of downtown Fergus Falls, is looking at new locations with expanded space.
Possibilities include a new location at the courthouse in Fergus Falls, an addition at the county operations center in the town of Ottertail and a possible remodeling at a section of the county-owned building in New York Mills.
A final decision would be needed by the Otter Tail County Board of Commissioners.
County probation agents monitor an offender's compliance with court-ordered conditions which can include treatment programs, random drug testing (for abstinence from mood-altering chemicals), restitution payments and community work service hours.
Probation employees strive to provide the best corrections services possible throughout Otter Tail County.
County board approves health information plan
County commissioners approved a contract between several community partners and the Minnesota Department of Human Services for a six-month extension for work on the electronic health information exchange.
The current project ends March 31, 2019. DHS has an additional $200,000 in funds to continue the pilot project specifically around consent management in Otter Tail County.

Sewage Ordinance update
The draft Subsurface Sewage Treatment Systems Ordinance will be updated after a Public Works Committee meeting on March 26, 2019, and be available on the Otter Tail County website.
A public hearing was held on March 12 for the Sanitation Code for proposed revisions to the Subsurface Sewage Treatment Systems (SSTS) Ordinance.
There were 18 members of the public who signed the attendance sheet. Chris LeClair, County Land and Resource director, submitted a memorandum highlighting the major proposed revisions to the Sanitation Code dated Jan. 24, 2019.
County Solid Waste office applies for MPCA program
Otter Tail County's Solid Waste Department has applied to host an AmeriCorps member from the Minnesota GreenCorps, a program of the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA), for the 2019-2020 program year.
If the MPCA selects Otter Tail County Solid Waste Department, the organization is committed to implementing the proposed project as described in the host site application.
